Questions

Is Old Time Radio Tuner free?

Yes. The app is free, and so is everything in it. It all comes from archive.org, where it's free for everyone.

Do I need an account?

No. There's nothing to sign up for.

Where does the content come from?

Everything is streamed or downloaded from the Internet Archive (archive.org). Old Time Radio Tuner is not affiliated with the Internet Archive, and we don't host any of the media ourselves.

Can I listen without a connection?

Yes, for episodes you've downloaded. Download one episode, or use Download all on a series page. Without a connection the series list shows only what you've downloaded.

Can the app keep new episodes downloaded for me?

Yes. On a series page, use Keep next episodes to choose how many of the next episodes to keep downloaded. They download over Wi-Fi, and the app removes each one after you've played it.

Does it remember where I stopped?

Yes. Continue Listening on the series list picks up where you left off, and Recently Played lists what you heard lately. When an episode ends, the next one plays on its own. You can turn that off in Settings, under Listening.

Is there a sleep timer?

Yes. You can set it to stop at the end of the episode.

A show won't play or download. What can I try?

Check that you're online, then close and reopen the app and try again. Items on archive.org are sometimes slow, unavailable or removed by the uploader, so one show failing while others work usually means the problem is on archive.org's side. If it keeps happening, report it below.

How do I turn anonymous usage data on or off?

It's off until you turn it on. The switch is called "Share anonymous usage data". Tap the gear on the series list to open Settings, and it's under Privacy. See the privacy page for exactly what it counts.
